Today is our fifteenth wedding anniversaery.......

Since we have a variety of activites coming up in the near future, Don & I have agreed not to spend money on eachother for our anniversary. Still........ I wanted to do something more for him than just the everyday card.

We have a wall in our bedroom that needs something. I have not found just the right wall hanging for this spot. Our bedroom is done following the beliefs of Feng Shui. Our room is painted tan with off white trim. Calming, skin colors. Our bed is not in direct line with the door. Most things in the room are in matched pairs. We have matching nightstands with matched lamps and candles. Our pictures are hung in pairs and depict marriage and happy couples. No TV, exercise equipment, mirrors, large plants or pictures showing unhappy, solitary or alone images.

For fun, I decided to try making my own wall hanging. Instead of giving Don a card, I made a scrapbook layout of our wedding and framed it for the empty spot on our bedroom wall.

It's a 16" x 20" frame. Here is how it turned out.

And........I still adore him.

Happy Anniversary, honey.

I'm using this layout for the 'Just My Sketches' April challenge hosted by Deanne Burton.

I chose the song, 'A Moment Like This' by Kelly Clarkson.

'I'm Amazed by You'

Here is my layout for the March 1st. 'Just my Sketches' challenge. This challenge is hosted by Deanne Burton of Newfoundland. Thank you Deanne for a great challenge.

This challenge is a little different. Each month Deanne posts sketch challenges for two scrapbook layouts and two cards. She also lists the titles and lyrics for five songs. The challenge is to choose a song and then tie the song in with the sketch while creating your card or layout. You can use the song title, theme or a stanza from the song. It adds a new spin on the scrap/card challenges. It's fun.

The song I chose was 'Amazed' by Lonestar.

Here is the sketch and........
below is my layout.

Baydo's RV in Fife, Wa.- An Unhappy Customer Review, Part 3

Continued from part 2---

We had a very busy summer. We had two great camping trips with family and friends.  In October, I called Baydo’s, as planned. It was no surprise to us to find the work order had never been approved. By this point, we had anticipated this exact thing and had already started making plans to do our own repair work.

I decided to call once more and talk directly with Paul. I was still intending to finish this blog and wanted to be sure the work order had not just been overlooked. When I spoke with Paul, he was very polite and friendly but made it very clear he had not committed to splitting the cost of any repairs with us. He even suggested Tommy had "spoken out of turn" by promising Baydo’s RV would split the cost. He did say we could bring our RV in for an appraisal and use it as a trade in for another rig. He also added any travel trailer they sold us would be at a higher cost than this one. He said they had nothing in this price range. His interest was in trying to sell us another RV. Needless to say, we decided to have no further contact with Baydo’s RV and to deal with the problem ourselves.

To end this blog I guess I would like to say…….We did buy the RV, “As is”. We have since learned there is no protection in buying used from a dealership. They offer nothing. We could have bought from a private party and paid less and probably had a more honest deal. My biggest complaint about our RV purchase is being lied to repeatedly by the salesman.

I would like to add, the Baydo’s repair Center and the dealership are owned by two different people. I believe they are family members. We had no problems with the repair center. They were nice and seemed to tell us how things were. I would like to be clear on that. We had no problems with the repair center.

An update..........

Don & I have just about finished with our repairs. We are very pleased with our results. The damage to the floor was much greater than anticipated, but not to the point we could not recover. It cost us approximately $2000.00 dollars to do the repairs and many hours each weekend for months. Yes—between the purchase and repair we probably have spent more than the RV is worth, but we do love it and decided it was worth it to us. We have seen inside every wall, the ceiling and floor. When we bought it, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but now we know this RV inside and out. Fortunately for us, the ceiling and walls were all fine. All the water damage was in the floor.

Over the next weekend or two, we will be putting the last finishing touches on our RV. I love the new floor. I like it better than the old one. My husband added two cupboard doors for easy access to the under the bed storage area. That's cool. I will post new pics when everything is finished and cleaned up.

Best wishes. Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Cards All Year 'Round--March challenge

Here are the five cards I submitted to the 'Christmas Cards all Year 'Round' March challenge. This challenge was hosted by Deanne Burton.

I absolutely love this monthly challenge. It motivates me to get my Christmas cards made early and it's always fun.

This months challenge was to create five Christmas cards that were predominantly green and also includs a snowman. The green is for St. Patrick's Day in March.

All five cards were completed by March 19th.

Thanks again, Deanne, for a fun challenge.
